📏  HOW TO MEASURE YOUR CHILD

 

Getting the measurements right is the most important step to ordering the perfect outfit. Follow these four simple steps for accurate results every time.

 

📋	What You Will Need A soft measuring tape, a notepad or your phone to record measurements, and ideally a second person to help.

 

01	Dress Your Child Correctly Have your child wear fitted clothing or undergarments only. Avoid measuring over thick or layered clothing as this adds unnecessary inches and leads to an incorrect size.

 

02	Correct Standing Posture Ask your child to stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart in a natural, relaxed posture. No slouching, no stretching — just natural and comfortable. This ensures every measurement is accurate.

 

03	Measuring the Chest Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level across the back and under the arms. The tape should lie flat — not too tight, not too loose.

 

04	Measuring the Waist Wrap the tape around the natural waistline — just below the belly button. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug but not pressed in. This is your child’s true waist measurement.

Our size guide is based on body measurements in inches, not standard age-based sizing. Since every child grows differently, always refer to our measurement guide rather than age labels for the best fit.

Since every FunnyBones outfit is handcrafted by skilled artisans, minor variations of up to ½ inch may occur. These are a natural part of the handmade process and do not affect the overall fit or finish of the garment.
