📏 HOW TO MEASURE YOUR CHILD |
|
Getting the measurements right is the most important step to ordering the perfect outfit. Follow these four simple steps for accurate results every time.
|
📋 |
What You Will Need A soft measuring tape, a notepad or your phone to record measurements, and ideally a second person to help. |
|
01 |
Dress Your Child Correctly Have your child wear fitted clothing or undergarments only. Avoid measuring over thick or layered clothing as this adds unnecessary inches and leads to an incorrect size. |
|
02 |
Correct Standing Posture Ask your child to stand tall with feet shoulder-width apart in a natural, relaxed posture. No slouching, no stretching — just natural and comfortable. This ensures every measurement is accurate. |
|
03 |
Measuring the Chest Wrap the tape around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level across the back and under the arms. The tape should lie flat — not too tight, not too loose. |
|
04 |
Measuring the Waist Wrap the tape around the natural waistline — just below the belly button. Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug but not pressed in. This is your child’s true waist measurement. |
Measurements Required for Customised Outfits
To ensure a comfortable and well-tailored fit for your little one, kindly share the following body measurements in inches.
Measurement-Taking Guide
-
Chest: Measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping the measuring tape comfortably snug and passing under the arms.
-
Shoulder Width: Measure across the back, from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other shoulder.
-
Sleeve Length: Measure from the shoulder tip down to the wrist, keeping the arm relaxed.
-
Mid-Stomach: Measure around the fullest part of the tummy, usually near the belly button.
-
Kurta Length: Measure from the highest point of the shoulder, near the neck, straight down to your desired kurta length.
-
Waist: Measure around the natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably snug.
-
Hips: Measure around the fullest part of the hips and bottom.
-
Pajama Length: Measure from the waistline down to the ankle or your preferred pajama length.
Important Guidelines
-
Please provide actual body measurements without adding extra inches.
-
Keep the measuring tape straight and comfortably snug, not too tight or loose.
-
Ensure your child is standing naturally while measurements are taken.
-
Our design team will add the necessary ease and fitting allowances based on the outfit's style.
A perfect fit begins with accurate measurements! 💛

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS |
|
My child’s measurements fall between two sizes — which should I choose?
If your child’s measurements fall between two standard sizes, we recommend opting for a custom size order. Simply WhatsApp us with your child’s exact measurements and our team will guide you to the perfect fit.
Are FunnyBones sizes the same as standard Indian kids’ sizes?
Our size guide is based on body measurements in inches, not standard age-based sizing. Since every child grows differently, always refer to our measurement guide rather than age labels for the best fit.
Will the outfit measurements exactly match the size guide?
Since every FunnyBones outfit is handcrafted by skilled artisans, minor variations of up to ½ inch may occur. These are a natural part of the handmade process and do not affect the overall fit or finish of the garment.
Can I order twinning outfits for my child and myself?
Absolutely! We offer parent-child twinning looks on request. WhatsApp us at +91-7567567636 with both sets of measurements and our team will customise accordingly.
What tool do I need to take measurements?
A soft measuring tape is all you need. Keep a notepad or your phone handy to note down each measurement, and have a second person assist for harder-to-reach areas.
What should my child be wearing during measurements?
Fitted clothing or just undergarments for the most accurate measurements. Avoid bulky or loose clothing that could add unnecessary inches to the reading.
