One of the most distinctive and thoughtfully designed pieces in the FunnyBones.in luxury festive collection, this pure soft silk boys kurta in emerald teal carries something no other children’s kurta does: a continuous hand-embroidered narrative along its placket, stitched entirely in gold zari thread.

Running down both sides of the pearl button placket is a vertical procession of gold zari motifs — a hot air balloon soaring upward, a lotus in full bloom, a hamsa hand, a vintage telephone, a teapot, geometric diamonds and circular swirls — each one individually hand-stitched, creating a visual story that unfolds as the eye travels from collar to hem. No two sections are identical. No machine could replicate this.

The kurta body is pure, unembellished emerald teal silk — rich and luminous — allowing the gold placket narrative to shine as the sole protagonist. Paired with a cream pajama and finished with pearl buttons, The Storyteller is a complete festive look of quiet, extraordinary distinction.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PIECE

The Storyteller was conceived around a single question: what if a kurta could tell a story? In the tradition of Indian miniature painting — where artists would fill every inch of a surface with narrative scenes — this kurta places its entire visual story along the placket, to be discovered motif by motif.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

•     Dry clean only — mandatory for pure silk with gold zari hand embroidery

•     Do not wring, bleach, tumble dry or machine wash

•     Iron on the lowest silk setting from the reverse side only — never iron directly over the gold zari embroidery

•     The gold zari thread is delicate — avoid snagging on sharp surfaces or jewellery

•     Store flat or hanging in the luxury garment bag — do not fold over the placket embroidery

•     Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and perfume spray to preserve the silk and zari
